Slow Down, Enjoy the Little Things.
Let’s start over again. Shall we?
The Phounsavath Edit has been redone once more for all my readers.
This month, May, is a month of new beginnings and an opportunity to start over.
The blog is officially maturing and evolving into its own brand identity and fully embracing its uniqueness as a fashion and career management site. I could not be happier to share this new design formatting with all of you. The site has newer features such as a reformatted homepage, new fonts for readability and TPE’s Code of Ethics—in which it is a social contract for all my readers.
I intended to operate this site fully for over a year while pursuing a graduate degree at a prestigious school I thought I wanted, but I endured a lot of personal adversities that I had to step back, take a break and heal before I published anything to the public.
About the Revamped Logo
I knew I wanted my healing journey to reflect on the brand, so I arranged consultations back in February with my closest partners, MarPal Marketing, a small marketing startup firm in Virginia Beach. I’m not the one to always follow the trend, however, I do see a trend in graphic design where the brand’s letters would often be combined/stacked to create a symbol. I thought that was such a beautiful, but simple idea. So, we went forth with many proofs, but there was something about this logo on the right that caught my eye.
The process took way longer than expected. I was reporting on Richmond Fashion Week for two magazine publications, putting up more content for the site and also working at my day job. In addition, Margaret—who’s 1/3 of MarPal—was also modeling for that fashion week (shout out to her on walking her first shows!). While the process was intended to be finished more than a few weeks ago, which I’m glad it was pushed back, because I wouldn’t have newer oppertunities to pursue alongside this beautiful blog.
Where am I now?
These past months were a period of reflecting and forgiving myself on the mistakes I have made in my personal life and career. The problem I have inflicted on myself (I’m sure a lot of you can relate) is having too many irons in the fire. I do not want the demographic to think TPE is solely a leisure endeavor that I write content on from time to time. This is a business I own, invest in and share stories and fun content, so I intend to keep the business going into something bigger than a blog.
I realized I cannot be an exceptional leader without focusing on one big step at a time, but acknowledging that is completely okay to rest, slow down and enjoy the little things I should never take for granted. Multitasking and being well-rounded are great skills to have, but also can be very menacing to one’s health if not used properly.
I am officially based in my hometown, Richmond, VA, as I am a newly-enrolled student in Virginia Commonwealth University. I am pursuing my Master’s in Public Administration to learn more on how to become an exceptional servant/democratic leader and public servant. My personal life is private as I am spending time with the people I love the most and I wish to keep it that way for a long time.
I hope you enjoy the second relaunch of The Phounsavath Edit. More content is coming very soon. Thank you to everyone who has supported the website. I do not know what I would have done without you.
Here’s to a successful business venture once more.
